Rising Numbers Across Eight States
KUALA LUMPUR: The flood crisis affecting eight states has driven 106,505 people into temporary shelters as of Friday night (Nov 29). Kelantan recorded the highest number of evacuees, with 72,360 individuals across 261 PPS.
Kelantan’s Alarming Flood Levels
Pasir Mas remains the worst-hit district in Kelantan, with 23,680 evacuees, followed by other districts like Tumpat and Kota Bharu. Rising river levels, particularly at Sungai Lanas and Sungai Kelantan, exacerbate the situation.
Terengganu’s Warnings and Increasing Victims
Terengganu has 24,754 evacuees, most of whom are in Besut. Rising water levels in key rivers have led to warnings for low-lying areas.
Updates from Other Regions
Other states, including Kedah, Johor, and Melaka, continue to report increasing evacuee numbers. Authorities have confirmed three fatalities linked to the floods, urging residents to stay alert and follow safety instructions.
